About Me

Dear Readers,

First of all, thank you for taking your time to visit my personal blog. Just a short introduction about me, here. I am Thiruchelvi Pulingam, but, everyone else ‘fondly’ calls me “Thiru”. I completed my B.Sc. in Microbiology (2011) and M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Technology (2014) at USM, Penang. Then, my love for bacteria persuaded me to even further my passion for them by enrolling in a Ph.D. programme at UM, Kuala Lumpur. As of now (June 2020), I have submitted my thesis and currently waiting for viva. If you wish to know more about my research updates, please feel free to follow me in  any of these platforms;

Here, in this blog, I hope to share some of my passion for bacteria by ONLY highlighting the goodness of them in this world. The reason I capitalized the word “only” is because, although I am aware of the capability of bacteria in causing infectious diseases among us, humans, but they do contribute so much to our world in their own tiny way. I hope everyone can benefit from the information that I will share here from now on. If you have any suggestions, questions or comments, please email me at thiruchelvipulingam@gmail.com

Lastly, I would like to conclude with a famous quote from Neil deGrasse Tyson; "Within one linear centimeter of your lower colon there lives and works more bacteria (about 100 billion) than all humans who have ever been born. Yet many people continue to assert that it is we who are in charge of the world."

Thank you and have a great day..!!!
